I must focus.
I am over half-way through my first pass studying the CFA level 3 curriculum. Technically, this is my second pass over most of the curriculum because the final 2 classes of my master’s degree program covered approximately 80% of the level 3 curriculum. Ignoring this detail, I have completed 19 of 32 readings (59.375%), or 10 of 18 study sessions (55.556%). Either way, I have crossed the half-way point today. This might sound like some cause for celebration, except that I can’t help the feeling that I am woefully behind where I should be by now.
My countdown app on my phone says I have 75 days until I get locked in a room for 6 hours with my trusty HP12C calculator. This sounds like plenty of time, but it most certainly is not.
The entire purpose of my blog is to hold myself accountable to my goals. I often do my best work to a deadline, so I am going to manufacture some urgency with a deadline. I am giving myself until midnight on the 27th of March to complete study sessions 13 through 18. I need to eliminate slack and get to work.
The penalty for failure is a year in purgatory.
I must not fail.
